We’ve heard of three 5G-connected Galaxy mid-rangers since the end of 2021, but not one of them has been made official yet. The good news is that they have not been canceled since they were just listed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
The three devices have the following model numbers: SM-M336BU / DS, SM-A336E / DS and SM-A536E / DS. As you may have guessed, these are dual-SIM versions of Galaxy M33 5G, A33 5G and A53 5G.
The M33 has been seen driving the Geekbench on an Exynos 1200 chipset. The A53 will reportedly use the same chip in some regions and a Snapdragon in others. However, rumors of the impending unveiling of the 1200 chip never materialized, and it is not clear if and how it may have affected Samsung’s launch plans.
Either way, the Galaxy A53 5G will be a well-specified mid-range with a 120 Hz OLED screen, a 64 MP quad camera. There will be no 3.5mm headphone jack on this one, but take a look at the speculative reproductions yourself.
The Galaxy A33 5G will have a 6.4 ”1080p + Super AMOLED screen, a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 15W charging. And it will have a headphone jack, you can see reproductions of the phone here. A33 and A53 are expected in four colors: Black, White, Light Blue and Orange. Galaxy M33 5G gets a larger battery of 6,000 mAh.
We still do not know when these three models will be unveiled. Samsung gets busy with the launch of the Galaxy S22 and Tab S8 in early February, allowing the three mid-range to squeak in before that.
