Specifications of the new Samsung Exynos 2200 processor and awesome gaming features officially
Samsung today officially announced its latest Exynos 2200 smartphone processor, which will power the company’s upcoming flagship smartphones later this year. It is the same processor that the company was scheduled to unveil on January 11th but was delayed.
The announcement of this new processor confirms that there will be Exynos-powered models of the Galaxy S22 series next month, which refutes rumors that Samsung will abandon the Exynos processor this time.
Exynos 2200 processor specifications
According to the company, it is Exynos 2200 A newly designed processor, manufactured using the company’s 4nm EUV node. It packs an octa-core CPU design and uses Armv9 CPU cores.

The CPUs consist of three clusters which are one Cortex-X2 main core, three large Cortex-A710 cores, and four small Cortex-A510 cores.
Furthermore, the Exynos 2200 processor comes with a Samsung Xclipse GPU based on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture which the company says will provide a massive gaming experience compared to the previous generation Exynos processors, while supporting games with HDR display resolution, ray tracing and VRS (variable rate shader). ) which was previously only available on PCs, laptops, and consoles.

Ray-tracing technology simulates the physical behavior of light in the real world in-game, resulting in realistic lighting effects for graphically rendered scenes. Variable rate shading improves the GPU workload by reducing the shading rate in areas where overall quality will not be affected.
It also comes with some other technologies like (AMIGO) that enhances overall performance and efficiency, by controlling power efficiency to reduce battery drain for high definition games.
The processor also delivers more powerful artificial intelligence (AI) that is upgraded thanks to the new NPU, and can be used with the image signal processor to support more realistic image capture. The ISP supports 108MP in single camera mode and offers 4K HDR and 8K video recording capability.

The Samsung Exynos 2200 processor includes a fast 3GPP version 16 5G modem that supports sub-6 GHz and mmWave spectrum bands. There is the new E-UTRAN Radio – Dual Connection (EN-DC) that uses 4G LTE and 5G NR signals and can boost speeds up to 10Gbps.
For security and protection, it also comes with an Integrated Security Element (iSE) to store private encryption keys as well as play the role of a RoT (root of trust). Also, the company has added enhanced built-in HW encryption for UFS and DRAM so that user data encryption is shared securely only within the secure domain.
Samsung said that the Exynos 2200 processor is currently in mass production. Although this has not been explicitly confirmed, this processor will power the upcoming flagship smartphones of the Galaxy S22 series which is expected to be officially launched on February 8th, along with models powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
