Xiaomi Mi 11 gets MIUI 12.5 update in Europe
Back in February at the global unveiling of MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi promised that global versions of its phones would start receiving this update in April or May. Among the devices in the first batch was the Mi 11, and today the company has kept its promise.
Following a rollout in China last month, the MIUI 12.5 is now available for Mi 11 devices in Europe. The new building arriving over the air is marked 18.104.22.168.RKBEUXM. “EU” in the middle that tells you where it’s going.

According to the change log, you can see in the screenshots above, you can expect immediate gesture response and “20 times more rendering power”. There is also a bold promise that “any phone will be faster after the upgrade” thanks to customized device model adjustments. MIUI 12.5 is also said to be lighter, faster and “more durable”, no matter what that means.
In addition, the Notes app receives huge improvements with the support of mind maps with complex structures, new tools for doodling and drawing, a gesture shortcut for creating notes, tasks and excerpts everywhere – and when it comes to that, excerpts save text, URLs, and photos for the app in a few simple taps. Finally, dynamic layouts take “the style of Notes to a new level”.
As usual, the update may be rolled out in stages, so it may take a few days for all European Mi 11 devices to pop up. By the way, you look at a 656MB download when this eventually hits your phone. And after installation, you have the April 2021 security patch level, which is already obsolete – but unfortunately that has been the case for most of Xiaomi’s recent updates.
