Yesterday, Samsung shared a demo video of its advances in the display, and one of the concepts it showed was a scrollable device. As we all know, when concepts do not always reach the real world, but a new brand given by EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), Samsung may take this very seriously.
The company branded the Z Roll name and signaled its commitment to the project. The document also suggests that the Z Roll supports the S-Pen. Maybe it’s too optimistic to expect Samsung’s rollable phone to come out this year, but hopefully next. It will be interesting to see which company first releases its version of a mobile phone. Oppo and TCL have shown prototypes, while LG was closest, but its exit from the smartphone market meant the project was scrapped.
