Samsung confirms it’s moving its Galaxy Watch to Wear OS

0 3

Samsung’s Vice President and Chief Development Officer Janghyun Yoon has issued a statement confirming that future Galaxy Watches will actually run Google’s Wear OS instead of the Tizen OS.

The confirmation comes after months of speculation and rumors, which at first seemed downright impossible, and which became more serious as time went on.

Yoon does not provide any specific information on what smartwatches Samsung has on the way, but adds that the current Tizen OS smartwatches will have three years of support from the product launch.

Our latest intel is that Samsung makes two watches – Galaxy Watch4 and Watch Active4 – which come without support for blood sugar reading. Galaxy Watch4 (42mm and 46mm) and Galaxy Watch Active4 (40mm and 42mm) are due to arrive soon with OneUI running on top of Wear OS and supporting its many third-party apps.
